Social Emotional Ethical Academic Education (SEEAE)

What is SEEAE and why is it important?

Social and emotional education (SEE), also called social and emotional learning (SEL) and character education (CE), is the process by which parents and educators teach children the nonacademic knowledge and skills that they will need to be successful, productive, and caring individuals throughout their lives.

Exposing children and students to social and emotional skills, knowledge and values enhances their ability to become more aware of themselves and others. It also helps them to solve real problems, learn, and express creativity.

In order to raise or teach citizens of the future, we need to provide them with a foundation of social and emotional competencies. Educators, social scientists, and mental health professionals have discovered that there is a group of core skills, knowledge, and values that contributes to this foundation.

Promoting core social and emotional competencies

Social Competencies
Learning how to be a flexible problem-solver, being able to communicate effectively and collaborate with others, becoming a good listener and understanding others' feelings, perspectives, and points of view are some of the many key skills in social and emotional learning.
